Meet our guest speaker: Emma Coonan

We are only 3 weeks away from the deadline for submitting papers and, in case you need some extra motivation, we are delighted to announce that our guest speaker will be Emma Coonan!

Emma is the Information Skills Librarian at UEA (University of East Anglia), Norwich and tweets @LibGoddess. She will be enlightening us all about the process of publishing a journal article including peer review, formatting your article, and how to maximise the impact of your published work. LISDIS Conference 2015: Call for papers

LISDIS is a new conference, aimed at people sharing dissertation research they completed as part of a library and information science qualification. It is taking place on Saturday 14th November 2015 at the University of Huddersfield.

If you are interested in contributing a 15 minute presentation or a poster to the conference please complete the abstract submission form (.docx) and return it to LISDISConference@gmail.com by Friday 11th September 2015. Following the conference, there may be opportunities to publish your research.

The criteria:

  • Have completed an LIS dissertation since 2012 that hasn’t been previously published or presented
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about their dissertation research and keen to present it to the wider profession
  • Can present on their research within the 15 minute time slot
  • Alternatively, create a poster on their research

All those who submit will be notified by Wednesday 30th September as to whether they have been successful.

The event is free to attend and a contribution towards travel costs will be made for speakers. Poster session presenters are not required to attend, but will have to cover postage costs themselves if they do not.
